To all our loyal customers:
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has patronized us in the past. We truly appreciate your business.
A couple of items affecting the Christmas tree industry in 2022 are inflation and the drought of this past summer. The fiscal buffoonery that gives us inflation continues, so we are again, regretfully, forced to increase our prices. I can't think of one related expense that has not seen a price increase this past year.
We've had a few inquiries about this summer's drought and the effect it's going to have on this year's crop. The drought of 2022 was not as bad as the drought of 1999. Mortality was basically limited to the young trees that were planted in the spring of 2022. It has not affected this year's marketable Christmas trees.
Due to the supply / demand imbalance, we closed early last year and expect to do the same this year, so that we have a good selection of trees down the road. Believe me, this is not what we want to do. Inclement weather could also have an effect on when we close.
Feel free to overindulge on Thanksgiving. We have 30 acres of Christmas trees to exercise it off. Always remember that exercise is good!
We look forward to serving you this year and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
